When first using RESIST Skin Revealing Body Moisturizer with 10% AHA, a slight tingling may occur. This is normal, but if it does not dissipate or gets worse, discontinue use.
Although AHAs can be irritating for some skin types, the irritation usually passes. AHA?s ability to exfoliate and solve many skin-care problems offsets the initial minor irritation involved with their use.
AHAs have a drop-off rate, meaning they do not keep exfoliating past the dead surface layers of skin. Once AHAs have sloughed off the thickened surface layers of sun-damaged skin their effectiveness tapers off. However, to maintain results, AHAs must be used on a regular basis.
Since AHAs remove the top layers of skin by exfoliating sun-damaged layers (returning it to how skin was before sun damage occurred), it is even more important to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher everyday to protect the ?new? skin, which is going to be more sun-sensitive now that the unhealthy skin has been removed.
For extra intense treatment of sundamaged skin with brown spots you can preferrebly use the product with Resist Retinol Skin Smoothing Body Treatment. Apply the 10% AHA body lotion first and immediately follow with the Retinol body treatment. You can also alternate these products, for example use one in the morning and the other at night.
